The Advanced Burn Life Support program is the ABA’s premier educational resource for the emergency care of burn injuries.

Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) programs provide knowledge for immediate care of the burn patient up to the first 24-hours post injury. ABLS programs also support emergency preparedness and mass casualty incidents focusing on triage, burn survivability, prioritizing transport of patients, and patient treatment. ABLS is available for a wide range of burn care professionals.

COVID-19 Impact

Some ABLS Instructors have inquired about teaching ABLS virtually due to limitations with teaching live, in person programs.  At this time, virtual teaching of the program cannot be offered to the community. Virtual teaching is not considered a live course, according to ACCME and ANCC Guidelines.  ABA needs to follow these guidelines to maintain our accreditation.
