ABLS Live courses offer live, didactic lectures and hands-on simulation nationwide to reinforce learning for all registrants.
This 7-hour live, hands-on course is designed to provide the “how-to” of emergency care of the burn patient through the first 24-hour critical time period. Following a series of lectures, case studies are presented for group discussion. Testing consists of a written exam and a practical assessment.
The registration fee covers the course tuition, the ABLS Provider manual, written and practical assessments, continuing education credits (Nurses and Physicians), and a certificate of completion.

ABLS Provider Course FAQs

The ABLS Provider course is a seven-hour course, and includes a series of morning lectures, afternoon small group case study and simulation sessions, written assessment and practical hands-on exam.
The ABLS Provider course includes the recently updated 2018 ABLS Provider Manual. The manual is emailed to ABLS registrants at least two weeks prior to the course.
An evaluation link is emailed to registrants, upon completion of the ABLS course. Following completion of the evaluation, the certificate will be made available to registrants electronically.

The ABLS Provider certification is valid for 4 years. Once your certification has expired, update by taking the ABLS Provider Live or ABLS NOW online course.
ABLS Instructor Course FAQs
The ABLS Instructor course is a 4.5 hour course consisting of the “Teaching How to Teach” session, mini-teaching sessions, and critiques.

The ABLS Instructor course includes the 2018 ABLS Manual, lecture, and case study slides, and course simulations. The materials and mini-teaching assignments are emailed prior to the course.
An evaluation link is emailed to registrants, upon completion of the ABLS course. Following completion of the evaluation, the certificate will be made available to registrants electronically.
- Complete the ABLS Instructor course and you are considered an ABLS Instructor Candidate.
- The registrant is then required to perform 2 observed teachings by National Faculty.
- To set this up, check with your local ABLS coordinator or check the ABLS website for course listings.
- Once this has been completed, the registrant is an ABLS Certified Instructor.
- An ABLS Instructor Wallet card will be available.
The ABLS Instructor certification is valid for 4 years.
