Now accepting case submissions for the “Challenging Cases in Burn Care” Session being held during the 2023 Burn Surgeon Forum!
The “Challenging Cases in Burn Care” will be an interactive session that will be held during the Burn Surgeon Forum in Charleston, SC on December 4-5.
The session will allow burn surgeons to present brief, interesting cases to their peers who will discuss the management options, pitfalls, and innovations. After a 10-minute presentation, the audience will have 20 minutes to ask questions, provide insights, and discuss the case.
What types of cases are being considered? Cases will be selected based on their ability to challenge their peers and stimulate discussion about surgical burn care. All case submissions will be adjudicated by the Burn Surgeon Forum Course Directors. Selected cases will be presented during the session*.
Case submission format: Cases in adult or pediatric burn injury will be considered. Cases focusing on challenges caring for the elderly are also encouraged. Cases should include the need for multidisciplinary care and collaboration. Case submissions are to be limited to 300 words and the management should be distilled down to 1-2 critical decisions in the management. Also, include your name, title or level of training, institution, and career goals.
The submission deadline is Oct 16, 2023.
*It is expected that the individual listed on the case submission will be the individual presenting the case if it is selected.
